Biography
Monika Dubinkaite is an artist, photographer, and art director working in the genre of still life. Lives and works in Vilnius, Lithuania. Her practice is shaped by a fascination with structure, balance, and the subtle tension between order and chaos. Drawing inspiration from the principles of the Bauhaus movement, she strives to find harmony through precise compositions, bold color relationships, and a meticulous attention to form.
For Monika, photography is a way of constructing moments of quiet clarity. She approaches each image as if building a structure — balancing shapes, light, and shadow to create a sense of order within the unpredictable. Her images feel poised yet fragile, as though they could dissolve at any second.
Her work reflects themes of memory, identity, and belonging, born from her experiences of frequently moving throughout her life. Each composition becomes a meditation on the fleeting sense of stability, a visual language we create to anchor ourselves in ever-changing surroundings.
Her long-term projects have been showcased at national and international exhibitions and festivals.
In addition to her personal practice, Monika collaborates with fashion brands and magazines as an artist and art director, developing distinctive concepts and meticulously crafted visual narratives.
